Lingham & Sons started bottling this sauce in Malaysia in the early 1900s, and the recipe has stayed stubbornly simple: fresh red chillies, sugar, vinegar, salt. Nothing else. The result is the sweet-heat pour that Malaysian and Singaporean tables treat as a birthright — glossy, garlicky-sweet up front, with a warmth that builds slowly and never shouts. The 280 ml bottle is the standard export size, and it goes with fried rice, noodles, grilled chicken, and anything that ever met a wok.
This is the gentle end of the shelf and it knows it. No maker-published Scoville figure exists, so we place it by taste: a mild-medium warmth that arrives after the sweetness and fades politely.
